Hope to see you there!
Hello again everyone,
The Kitchener-Waterloo Branch Committee of Management met via Zoom last week and, in light of the ongoing pandemic and public health directives, made the difficult decision to cancel the fall term of our regular, in-person Tuesday classes. We will continue to monitor the situation, and will make a decision about the resumption of classes in January based on the information and public health orders in place in the next few months.
Every other Tuesday, starting on September 22nd at 7:30 p.m. we will be hosting virtual classes on Zoom. These classes will be approximately 1/2 hour to 45 minutes in length. More details will be provided as the teachers and the Committee of Management develop the content of these classes. If you have any suggestions, please pass them along to the teahcers or to a member of the Committee of Management. Zoom links will be sent out before each class.
On Sunday, September 13th, (rain date September 20th) we will be hosting "Glancing in the Park" from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. in Victoria Park, Kitchener. Bring a lawn chair and meet us at on the lawn beside the Victoria Park Pavillion (where we usually hold Dancing in the Park) for a physicially distanced (in accordance with public health rules) social gathering.
NEW DATE Ball
We will be hosting our 2020 Ball on NOVEMBER 6, 2021 in partnership with the Blair Scottish Country Dance Group to celebrate "100 Years years of Scottish Country Dancing" in Waterloo Region - the 60th Anniversary of the founding of the Kitchener-Waterloo group and the 40th Anniversary of the founding of the Blair Group. Please see the flyer and ball program below.
John Raymond Dugan 1935 - 2020
It is with great sadness that we share the news that Ray Dugan passed away on the morning of Sunday, March 1, 2020. Ray was a longtime member and teacher of our group as well as a deviser of many Scottish country dances. We will miss him. Our thoughts and prayers are with Sylvia and his family.
